About Me
I really enjoy teaching!
At the heart of my teaching philosophy is the importance of taking the time to get to know my students, and whānau and building positive relationships with them. I work hard to foster a motivating, responsive and supportive learning environment for my students where achievement is important. My goal is to create in each ākonga, a love for learning. As a teacher, I am empowering learners alongside my team to become confident, connected students who show manaakitanga, persevere when faced with a challenge and know they have the skills to achieve and reach their full potential.
When a student smiles in delight as they share their learning, I know I am a teacher.

I have shared part of my fathers’ heritage with you as I am proud of who I am, where I come from, my culture and my family. My husband’s Samoan heritage and our religion supports my dedication to our family values. These connections I hope to build relationships with you and your children at Onepoto School. May our aspirations for our children foster a pathway of knowledge, strength, independence and growth.

About Me
Kia ora! I am Whaea Sandra.
I have recently graduated as a teacher, however I am familiar with the classroom, having previously been a learning assistance at college.
I am married and have five wonderful tamariki. One is still at school, and the other four are independent.
In my spare time I love catching up with my whānau and friends, reading, gardening, kayaking and going on bushwalks. I really appreciate and enjoy nature.

Hello,my dear friends!
My name is Sala Alona and I'm from Niue Island also known as

I am a Learning Assistant and I have been at Onepoto Primary School for 13 years. I love my job very much and I take great pride in watching my students progress and succeed in their learning. I have been fortunate to call Northcote my home for the last 35 years and it is here where I have found a great sense of community, belonging, and connection to my people. The Northcote/ Onepoto Community has always been supportive of its people and I am very blessed to be able to give back to the community that has given me so much.

About Me
I am Whaea Ma and it is an absolute pleasure working with the children at Onepoto School. With our strong leadership and enthusiastic team, we are all here to see them succeed. I work beside the teachers and also work 1-on-1. Knowing that our children learn at different levels and at a different pace, I enjoy building up my relationship with them, encourage and guide them as we take a few steps back so that we can move forward. I love their enthusiasm and love sharing the fun of learning.
