Why choose us?

Our Vision is "Empowering Ourselves to be Successful Learners". This includes all stakeholders of our school. Through our core value of Manaakitanga – Respect, we develop strong relationships and believe that knowing our learners before we teach them is vital in how we respond! We are a U2 school located in central Northcote, North Shore, Auckland.

Whaungatanga (Developing Relationships), with our students, whanau and community has been key in developing engaged learners. Through Tikanga Ako (Learning to learn), we work together so that all our students experience success at every level of their learning. Creative planning for exciting teaching and learning experiences, help to build on and extend knowledge and skills for learning.

Our teachers love teaching and value their profession. They are learners too and particpate in Professional Development to improve their teaching practice to impact student learning. Our support staff are also valuable members of our school whanau and also partcipate in professional development.

Today, we are a very multi-cultural school, with a very proud and supportive community. We currently have 63 students and 3 classes, each class with a Teacher Aide and a roll that will continue to grow with our new school.

The Northcote Housing Development is well underway. Our surrounding neighbourhood has been demolished to improve housing for our families. Homes that are healthier and warmer. The new development will have a combination of State Housing, Kiwi Housing and Private homes. Several of our families have been re-housed due to this new and exciting rebuild, leaving us with a low roll at the present time. This will increase once the new homes have been built. This will happen in a series of stages. We are preparing ourselves for these changes.
